Abstract

Enterprise employees must make efforts for their work to get paid, but employees often feel that the company salaries are much lower than their contribution. Therefore, it is often found in the workplace that employees change jobs or try wage bargaining coordination for better compensation. From business owners’ viewpoints, losing well-trained employees, sabotage or strike will cause extra costs or losses. Therefore, when enterprises are faced with such problems, it is quite important to solve them effectively. This case is created on the basis of an actual event of “give me a raise or I quit” in Wei-Fong Construction Company. Through this case study, students are guided to understand resource dependence theory and equity theory, as well as the key points and skills involved in negotiation.

Keywords: Resource Dependence Theory, Labor Negotiations, Equity Theory, Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement
